My style of writing is very unique. It's nearly impossible to describe the thought process that goes on in my head when I design a character and plot line. It's sort of like Sherlock Holmes' mind palace, for any Sherlock fans out there.
When I design a character, I sit down and profile them. Literally everything about them, from their childhood best friends to their first love and military experience to their favorite candy and pet peeves, is written down in a notebook, usually in very crappy handwriting. Half the time, I can't even read what I wrote, and the character certainly evolves once I get into the actually story I'm writing. The point is, every character I write has a background and a history that affects their actions and thought process.
Most importantly, these background and histories are ENTIRELY MADE UP. They are as fictional as the characters themselves and are made up in my mind for the purpose of the story.
So disclaimer: all people in my short stories/novels are fictional. I've only ever written two characters based on real life people. One is the current President of the United States. The other knows, and I have his permission to use his likeness. I would never write a character based on a real life person without their knowledge or consent. I'm not that type of person.
Thank you for reading the stories about Brooklyn and hopefully soon Lesley in real life book form. I appreciate your support, even if it's just to make of me.
Thanks!
Have a great day,
K.P.
